Heard is currently in negotiations to play Chenault, the lead female character. Johnny Depp will play the lead male role.
The film follows Paul Kemp (Depp), a journalist in the 1950s in Puerto Rico. Chenault (Heard) is the girlfriend of a colleague. The three are soon immersed in a love triangle, when Chenault has an affair with Kemp and tries to convince him to run away with her.
Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley were also interested in the role, but had some reservations about nude scenes. Heard had no problems with nudity. She is nude in almost every scene of her upcoming film, The Informers, which hits theatres on April 24.
