Phoenix’s spokesperson denied recent rumours that the actor’s new career as a rapper is a joke.
"The transition from one career to another is never seamless. It should come as no surprise to anyone that Joaquin came from a musical family, in addition to winning a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Johnny Cash," the rep said to MTV News.
Phoenix plans to continue pursuing his musical career, despite negative reactions from critics.
This week, it was reported that Phoenix and his good friend, Casey Affleck, were filming his shows. Affleck plans on turning Phoenix’s career change into a documentary.
