Simon Beaufoy to Write New Film

Actor Simon Beaufoy has been recruited to pen the script for the film Leap Year.

Simon Beaufoy, an Oscar-nominee for the film Slumdog Millionaire, will be writing the romantic comedy Leap Year, starring Amy Adams.

The 41-year-old British writer, who also worked on the screenplay for The Full Monty (1997), is seeing his market value rise, ever since his film, Slumdog Millionaire, earned 10 nominations for Hollywood’s biggest awards night on February 22.

In Leap Year, Adams will play a woman who goes to Dublin to marry her boyfriend on February 29, following an old Irish tradition. However, things don’t seem to pan out as she had wished.

Filming for Leap Year is set to begin in March under the direction of Anand Tucker (Shopgirl).
