The singer was thrilled when she was announced as the winner in the Best International Song category for I Kissed a Girl at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes on Saturday (January 17).
However, the excitement was short lived for the young star. As she walked on stage to accept the trophy, Rihanna’s song Disturbia was playing. According to FemaleFirst, Rihanna was the actual winner of the category.
Nikos Aliagas, the host of the evening, quickly took the stage to reveal the mix up, and he apologised to both singers.
