The 35th annual People’s Choice Awards took place yesterday evening (January 7) at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, and The Dark Knight swept the night with several awards, reports People.
Hollywood’s most famous couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, was honoured at the gala. Pitt received an award for favorite leading man, while his sweetheart was chosen for the favorite female action star. However, the two actors were not present to accept their awards.
Several other celebs were on hand to receive their prizes, including Carrie Underwood, Katherine Heigl, as well as the hosts of the show Dancing with the Stars.
The big winner of the night was none other than the film The Dark Knight, which earned 5 trophies, including one for favorite movie and another for favorite action movie. The main character of the film, Christian Bale, won the award for favorite superhero.
