McG to Direct 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

McG will be directing Disney’s family flick, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo.

Director McG (We Are Marshall, Charlie’s Angels) will direct the Walt Disney Pictures family film, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo, reports Variety.

Inspired by the Jules Verne novel and written by Bill Marsilli, the film will look into the background of Nemo, who created a warship called the Nautilus.

In 1954, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea became Walt Disney’s first action film. It was the second highest grossing film of the year and earned three Oscars.

McG also directed Terminator Salvation, which opens in theatres on May 22, and he is in talks to direct the next Terminator instalment.
