The PGA selects film and television films for awards in various categories, and has named The Dark Knight as a contender in the best film category.
Also competing in that category will be The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Frost/Nixon, Milk, and Slumdog Millionaire.
In the animated film category, the producers chose Bolt, Kung Fu Panda and Wall-E.
Among the television productions, competing in the comedy series category will be Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage, The Office, 30 Rock, and Weeds. Boston Legal, Damages, Dexter, Lost, and Mad Men are being considered in the drama category.
The annual awards ceremony will take place on January 24 in Hollywood.
