SAG Delays Strike Vote

The Screen Actors Guild delayed a vote that could give authorisation for a strike among Hollywood actors.

SAG announced that ballots will be sent out in two weeks, delaying a possible strike.

So far, no agreements have been reached between the union and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

Recently, more than 1400 members of SAG have said publicly that they would vote against a strike, including George Clooney, Matt Damon, Tom Hanks, Susan Sarandon, Julianne Moore, and Robert Redford.  Several stars believe that a strike, when the American economy is in such distress, could hurt the film and television industry indefinitely.

The actors will be meeting on January 12 and 13 in order to share more information, so that they make their best decision.
