Director Betty Thomas (Doctor Dolittle) will be directing Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel.
No details about the project have been released, although we know that the film will feature the chipmunks’ sisters, the Chipettes.
Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney will again provide the voices for Alvin, Simon and Theodore. However, it is still unknown if actor Jason Lee will return for the sequel.
The first film earned $360 million at box offices worldwide in 2007. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel is expected to reach theatres in time for Christmas 2009.
