According to the project’s producers, Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy, Jurassic Park 4 has been dropped from the drawing table.
Universal Pictures had hired William Monahan and John Sayles to write a script in 2004, hoping to release the film in 2010, but the plans have been scrapped.
Marshall said that perhaps the death of the author, Michael Crichton, was a sign that there should be an end to the film franchise.
Jurassic Park, released in 1993, earned $920 million at box offices worldwide. In 1997, a second instalment earned $614 million, and the third film generated $363 million for the franchise.
