Tom Cruise has denied that he put pressure on Amazon to remove an anti-Scientology book from their catalogue, reports The Sun.
Five days after the publication of the book, The Complex, Cruise reportedly went to the Amazon headquarters in Seattle to present a sneak preview to his film Valkyrie.
A few days later, Amazon‘s British website no longer sold the book, claiming that a person in the book had been subject to defamation.
Amazon says that the British law gave the company no choice but to pull the book from its catalogue. The author of the book, John Duignan, stated, “I believe Tom Cruise influenced them.”
