Pitt will play Colonel Percy Harrison Fawcett in the biographical film, Lost City of Z, directed by James Gray (Two Lovers).
The film will be adapted from the book by David Grann. It will tell the story of Colonel Fawcett, an English explorer who disappeared in the Amazon jungle in 1925 with his entire team, while they were searching for a lost city.
Filming is expected to begin at the end of 2009 and Pitt will also act as producer.
In the meantime, we can next see Brad Pitt in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button on December 25.
