France’s First Lady is introducing a Township handbag made by the women of a South African cooperative, reports Vogue.fr.
During an official visit with Nicolas Sarkozy in February, Bruni discovered the bag and its flamboyant colours, and imported 241 models to France.
All of the profits from sales of the bags will go to ONG Township Patterns, who is opening a new cooperative in Khayelitsha. Ten new jobs were created through this initiative.
The bag’s cost $130, and can be purchased at Colette’s Website.
