According to Variety, Charlize Theron is currently in negotiations to join Tom Cruise in the film The Tourist.
The project is a remake of the 2005 French film, Anthony Zimmer. The Tourist will be directed by Bharat Nalluri (Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day).
Theron would play an Interpol agent who uses an American tourist in order to flush out a criminal with whom she once had an affair.
The production is set to begin in March, and the film is expected for a release in 2010.
Charlize Theron will next share the spotlight with Viggo Mortensen in The Road, headed for theatres next year.
