For the second consecutive year, Elvis Presley topped the list of the wealthiest deceased artists, according to Forbes.com.
Last year, the King earned $52 million, thanks in big part to the 30th anniversary of his death this past August. Presley even earned more than some of today’s biggest living stars, including Justin Timberlake, who earned $44 million, and Madonna, who earned $40 million, during the same time period.
Also on the list was Marvin Gaye, at 13th place with $3.5 million, and John Lennon in 7th place with $9 million.
Presley has topped the list for 6 of the 7 years that the list has been compiled. The only one to knock Elvis from the top spot was Kurt Cobain in 2006 when new material from the album With the Lights Out was released.
