Raffaelo Follieri, the former boyfriend of actress Anne Hathaway, received his prison sentence yesterday (October 23).
Follieri, who pleaded guilty to 14 counts of fraud, money laundering and conspiracy in September, now faces four-and-a-half years behind bars.
It is still unclear where he will be doing his time. The police are deciding between Fort Dix prison in New Jersey and Otisville prison in New York, depending on the security level required.
Through an intermediary, Follieri informed the court that he was not raised with poor values and that everything began with good intentions.
He knows that he has done wrong and has no excuses. He only hopes that those who were hurt by his actions will one day forgive him.
