A video that showed Starr telling his fans that he would no longer be answering his mail is now forcing the 68-year-old musician to explain his decision.
The star said in a statement that he had no intention of disappointing his fans, but that he made the decision after realizing that many of his autographs were being sold on eBay.
Also, Starr believes that traditional mail is a considerable waste of paper and not friendly to the environment.
The drummer admitted that the media storm over his video caught him by surprise. Starr is asking his fans not to take his decision personally.
