Recall of Chocolate Coins

A recall is in effect for Sherwood chocolate coins.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)sent out a consumer advisory yesterday (October 8) that the Sherwood Pirate’s Gold Milk Chocolate Coins should not be eaten, distributed or sold, after a screening analysis for melamine was found positive.

The product is sold in bulk at Costco stores nationally and is also sold individually in various Canadian stores.

The CFIA will try to withdraw the product from the market in collaboration with the product’s importers. The health risks associated with the consumption of the product is very low.

Currently, no cases of consumer poisoning have been reported.
