J. Michael Flanagan, Spears’ attorney, revealed that the star refused a plea bargain to settle the case of driving without a license, which included a $150 fine and a year of probation, reports People.
According to Flanagan, the 26-year-old singer is being targeted because of her celebrity status, and added that she doesn’t even have a minor criminal record.
The lawyer said that Spears would consider being charged with an infraction and paying a lesser fine. Spears is expected to be in court on October 15 in Van Nuys regarding the case.
