Damon made a surprise entry to the competition in Miami on Sunday (October 5). His brother, Kyle, suggested that Damon enter the race in order to get back into shape. Kyle, who was also in the race, finished in 27th place, with a time of 2 hours, 23 minutes and 40 seconds.
Matt was part of a team that included his brother-in-law, Jay Jones, and a friend of the family, Barry Hetcherington. For his section of the competition, running 10.3 km, Damon finished in 59 minutes and 54 seconds.
Damon was met at the finish line by his wife, Luciana Bozan Barroso, their seven-week-old daughter, Gia, and a number of fans who were waiting to see him.
