According to Variety, Cyrus will star in the yet-untitled film for Disney. The studio already produces her television series Hannah Montana, and is now ready to launch the young star in front of a broader audience.
Nicholas Sparks, who is writing the project, also wrote The Notebook and Message in the Bottle.
No other details have been revealed, other than the fact that Cyrus will not sing in the film, which centres around family and relationship issues.
The young star’s mother, Tish Cyrus, will be producing the film.
