Dance Club Goes Green in Rotterdam

Both fans of night life and nature will be happy to discover the new, green nightclub Watt in Rotterdam.

The nightclub, which opened on September 4, was the project of the Sustainable Dance Club (SDC) council.

The bar has been designed with today’s environment in mind.  The lights are powered by the energy released by the dancers.  The club also uses recycled glasses, the toilets use rainwater, and all of the food served in the establishment is organic and produced locally.

The new type of club will produce 50% less waste than other clubs, as well as use 30% less gas and reduce the use of electricity by a quarter.

The environmentally friendly project has already been created in London, and is expected to hit the United States as well.
