The band is expecting to release a new album in 2009, despite the fact that Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends was just released in June, reports NME.com.
According to The Sun, the recording sessions, overseen by producer Brian Eno, went so well that the new disc will be released even sooner than the band had anticipated.
A source from EMI record house states, "The ‘Viva La Vida…'[b/] sessions were incredibly fruitful. They gelled brilliantly with [b]Brian and recorded much more music than they could fit on one album."
The source added that the majority of the songs for the new album have been completed, but the group will have to come back to the studio to add a few more.
