Russell Crowe’s Next Project

Actor Russell Crowe may play comedian Bill Hicks on the big screen.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Crowe may play Bill Hicks in a biopic on the late US comic.  This controversial star struggled with drug and alcohol abuse and died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 32.

Crowe was scheduled to play the Sheriff of Nottingham in the film Nottingham, but this has been postponed until next March, since director Ridley Scott wanted to wait for the trees in England’s Sherwood Forest to have the right colour. This delay will permit Crowe to take on another project.

Moviegoers can see Russell Crowe opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Body of Lies coming to theatres on October 10.
