Aniston’s friends defended her when Mayer made claims yesterday that he didn’t want to keep a relationship going if it wasn’t with the right person. The actress’ friends told MSNBC that Aniston was the one who ended the relationship, not the 30-year-old singer.
According to a source, Mayer was desperate to attract media attention. The source stated, “He has a relationship with certain paparazzi (and) bloggers. He tips them off. He loves the attention. Jen didn’t want to believe it was happening, but it was, and she has no tolerance for that.”
Aniston has always gone to great lengths to avoid photographers, but Mayer preferred to stop and chat with the paparazzi in the streets of New York.
Aniston was tired of Mayer’s inflated ego and was also fed up with footing the bill. “Jen was tired of paying for everything. Cobwebs come flying out of (Mayer’s) wallet when he opens it. John liked living like a movie star when he was with her. … Jen would never say anything, but you could tell it irritated her," explained the source.
