A lawyer for DMX confirmed that the rapper was arrested in Miami, after failing to appear at a hearing in Phoenix, reports Starpulse.com.
Attorney Charles Kozelka claims that the day of the hearing, DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was in a Miami hospital with the goal of getting checked into a rehab centre.
Kozelka explains that the warrant for his arrest put an end to the plan and forced him to turn himself in at the airport.
A Phoenix judge issued the warrant for DMX’s arrest on Tuesday (August 12), after he did not show up at the hearing where he was being charged with drug possession.
