Actor Orlando Bloom revealed that he would be taking on a role in a film recapping the siege in Sarajevo between 1992 and 1995.
Based on Bill Carter’s book, Fools Rush In, the film tells the story about the life he led during the siege in 1993 and 1994, when he was working as a humanitarian aid in Sarajevo.
Like in the book, the film will touch on the difficulties and joys he experienced with the locals, who had to mentally deal with 43 months of bombing and attacks in the city.
However, Bloom will not be playing Carter, and it is not yet known which role he will interpret.
Andrucha Waddington (The House of Sand), a Brazil native, has been chosen as the director for the project, which is anticipated to begin filming before the end of the year.
Orlando Bloom will also star in New York, I Love You, opening in theatres on February 13, 2009.
