Natalie Portman Wants to Remake a Classic Horror

Natalie Portman hopes to star in a remake of the classic horror Suspiria.

Actress Natalie Portman is scheming to remake the classic 1970s flick Suspiria, directed by Dario Argento.

In addition to starring in the lead role, Portman would also like to produce the film through her production company, Handsome Charlie Films.  She would also like David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) to direct.

In the 1977 version, a young American dancer travels to Europe to attend an elite ballet school.  When she arrives, she learns of another young woman who ran away from the school and was killed by a strange creature.  The American dancer soon discovers that the school is a facade for a sinister organisation.

We can next see Natalie Portman in the war drama Brothers, also starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire, which opens on December 4.
