Harrelson has been given the role of a man who spends years telling people that they will pay dearly for environmental abuse. Most people think that he’s a mad man, but his predictions could be true when the door to a parallel universe is discovered. It is there where he tries to contact his double to help him learn about the end of the world, also predicted by the Mayans.
John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiotor, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt and Amanda Peet will also star in the film under the direction of Roland Emmerich (The Day After Tomorrow).
Filming is set to begin soon in Vancouver, and the film will be released on July 10, 2009.
Woody Harrelson can also be seen in the film Management, opening on September 19, and in Seven Pounds on December 12.
