Grizzly Bear Heads to the Studio

Grizzly Bear will start to record within the next few weeks.

Before they join Radiohead for six performances on their North American tour, the group Grizzly Bear will spend the coming weeks in the studio, reports Billboard.com.

Singer and guitarist Edward Droste said that the new material will have a more optimistic and poppy sound than the album Yellow House, released in 2006.

He also explained that although the album will be cheerful overall, there will also be songs with dark lyrics. The album won’t be entirely pop, but some songs will be sunnier than those in Yellow House.

The group is expected to return to the studio in the fall to finish mixing the album and hopes for an April 2009 release.
