No Time Off for Christian Bale

Christian Bale may be adding a new film to his already busy schedule.

According to Moviehole, Warner Bros. hopes that Christian Bale will star as an American President in the film The 28th Amendment.

Tom Cruise was first approached for the role, but instead chose to make the spy thriller Edwin A. Salt, reports Moviehole.  Philip Noyce (The Bone Collector, The Saint) will direct Cruise in that project, and will also direct The 28th Amendment.

Warner Bros. is also hoping to add Denzel Washington to the film’s cast.  Washington would play the director of a secret organisation that is manipulating the United States government.

It was recently announced that Bale will play Robin Hood in the film Nottingham.  The star is currently shooting Terminator Salvation.  Next year, he will be starring in the films Killing Pablo with Javier Bardem and Public Enemies with Johnny Depp.

In the meantime, we can see Christian Bale this summer as Batman in the film The Dark Knight, which hits theatres on July 18.
