During an interview on the television show Extra, the comedian revealed that he plans to stop making films and hopes to return to his roots: stand-up comedy.
Murphy, who stars in the film Meet Dave, said, "Thirty years and I have close to 50 movies and it’s like, ‘Why am I in the movies? I’ve done that part now. I’ll go back to the stage and do stand-up.’"
In the meantime, the 47-year-old actor will respect all of his previous commitments, including Beverly Hills Cop 4. Originally, Murphy was not interested in making the fourth film, because he was disappointed with the franchise’s last installment.
