Gyllenhaal, who can next be seen in the film The Dark Knight, says that the birth of her daughter, Ramona, 21 months, "changed everything." The actress now turns down projects unless the script is exceptional.
The 30-year-old star told People, "I do think that it’s really difficult to get me away from (Ramona). It’s difficult to find a script that’s good enough for me to think, ‘Okay, I really need to do this instead of being with my daughter.’"
Although Gyllenhaal admits that motherhood has brought many sleepless nights and new responsibilities, she adds that she now has an appreciation for the small joys in her life.
