According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress Amanda Peet has joined the cast of the apocalyptic film, 2012, directed by Roland Emmerich (The Day After Tomorrow).
The script was written by Emmerich and Harald Kloser, and is about the Mayan prediction that the world will come to an end in December 2012.
Peet will play John Cusack’s character’s ex-wife, who is now married to a wealthy man. Cusack will play a divorced father who aspires to become a writer, but has to drive a limousine in the meantime.
If there is no actors strike, then filming for 2012 would begin in July, and the film would be expected for a release in July 2009.
