Robin Williams Considers Next Film

Robin Williams may be starring in a political film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robin Williams is in talks to star in the political drama, The Prince of Providence, based on the escapades of former Providence, Rhode Island Mayor, Vincent "Buddy" Cianci.

Oliver Platt was chosen to play the charismatic, yet corrupted mayor who held political office for 21 years.

Dermot Mulroney, Adam Goldberg, Bradley Cooper and Edwards Burns have all joined the cast. The screenplay will be adapted from a book by Michael Stanton that came out in 2003.

Robin Williams’ participation would depend on his already busy schedule. Filming is anticipated to begin later this year in Rhode Island.

Moviegoers can see Williams in spring 2009 in the comedy Old Dogs, also starring John Travolta.
