Leonardo DiCaprio Plans Next Film

Leonardo DiCaprio will play the man who invented the video game system, Atari, in his next film.

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio will play Nolan Bushnell, the inventor of the Atari game console, in the film Atari, reports Variety.

Bushnell created the Atari 2600 with the game Pong in 1972, launching an entire industry of video games.  The screenplay was written by Brian Hecker (Family Attraction) and Craig Sherman (New Suit).  The story follows the life of the computer genius, whose invention changed the face of entertainment.

DiCaprio is currently shooting the suspense film Shutter Island with Mark Ruffalo and Ben Kingsley, under the direction of Martin Scorsese.

DiCaprio fans can next see the star this fall in the political drama House of Lies.  The Ridley Scott film opens in theatres on October 10, and marks DiCaprio’s return to the silver screen after a two-year absence.
