According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jake Gyllenhaal has been chosen for the role of Prince Dastan in the film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The project is an adaptation of the popular Ubisoft video game. Gemma Arterton, the latest Bond Girl, will also star in the film.
In the adventure flick, Prince Dastan joins forces with his rival, Princess Tamina (Aterton) to battle an adversary who threatens to destroy the world with a sandstorm.
Filming is set to begin in July under the direction of Mike Newell (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire).
Jake Gyllenhaal can be seen on December 4 in the film Brothers, along with Natalie Portman and Tobey Maguire.
