La Presse newspaper reported that Dion will receive the Legion of Honor, which is the highest French award, on May 22. The French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, will present the award to her.
In 2005, the diva had been anointed a Knight in the National Order of the Legion of Honor, but never received her award. Therefore, Sarkozy will honour Dion with the award during a ceremony at the Elysée Palace.
There are rumours that the president’s wife, Carla Bruni, would be at the ceremony, which will coincide with a concert series that the superstar will do between May 19 and 27 at the Palais Omnisports in Paris-Bercy.
