Spelling played the role of Donna Martin in the original television series, and is very interested in being part of the cast for the new Beverly Hills 90210, reported People.
In this new version of the show, Jennie Garth will also be coming back in her role as Kelly Taylor, who has become a guidance counsellor at West Beverly High.
Spelling stated, "Jennie is already on board for the series and we have been in touch about it. I would love to see our characters Kelly and Donna together again and get the chance to work with my friend again."
Spelling had shown an interest in the project right from the onset. Spelling’s father, Aaron Spelling, was the producer of the nineties series.
The actress explained, "It was always my dad’s dream and intention to make a new 90210 before he passed, so I know he is proud and he would be even more proud if I were a part of it."
