Brief Prison Stay for Scott Weiland

Scott Weiland had a very short stay behind bars.

The former Velvet Revolver singer arrived at Van Nuys Prison yesterday in California to serve his 8 days in prison after being charged with drinking and driving.  He was released less than 10 hours later, reported PerezHilton.com.

He was also ordered to check into a rehabilitation program for 18 months for his drinking problems, and must pay a fine of $2000.

When the singer appeared in court on April 28, he did not contest the arrest that took place on November 11.

On April 1, the members of Velvet Revolver announced that they were parting ways with Scott Weiland.  Since that time, the musician has reunited with his former group, the Stone Temple Pilots.
