Scott Weiland Gets Prison Time

A judge ordered Scott Weiland to eight days behind bars.

According to People, Weiland was sentenced to eight days in prison for drinking and driving.  He was arrested on November 11.

It is the second time the 40-year-old musician has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.  The first time was in 2003.  He has also run into trouble with the law for domestic violence in 2001, and drug possession in the 1990s.

In addition to his jail sentence, Weiland needs to complete an alcohol education class and an 18-month rehab program, and pay almost $2000 in fines.

At the beginning of the month, the members of Velvet Revolver, with guitarist Slash at the forefront, decided to split with Weiland because of his unstable behaviour.  Weiland reunited with his former band, the Stone Temple Pilots.
