According to a report from Variety, Emma Watson will play Betsy Balcombe in the film Napoleon and Betsy.
Her character will be a young noble English woman who is impetuous, and ends up stranded on the island of St. Helena in the Atlantic. She falls in love with Napoléon Bonaparte, who is also exiled on the island.
Emma Watson is replacing Scarlett Johansson, who decided to leave the part open for a younger actress. Johansson will still produce the project.
Emma Watson just turned 18, and she can next be seen on November 21 as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
