According to the National Enquirer, Bardem, who won an Oscar for his performance in No Country for Old Men, proposed to Cruz during their trip to France last month.
The Spanish actor, who had a hard time committing, was persuaded by his mother Pilar, who stated, "What’s the matter with you? She’s perfect! You love her, she loves you. Get married."
The wedding will probably be later this year.
