Tobey Maguire will produce the project through his company, Maguire Entertainment. Along with Neal Moritz (Original Films), Maguire will bring the comic book Afterburn to the big screen, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Afterburn was published by the Canadian publishing house Red 5 Comics.
The story of this sci-fi adventure, written by Paul Ens and Scott Chitwood, takes place on Earth where life is irradiated and destroyed.
Tobey Maguire is also developing and producing an adaptation of the animated classic Robotech. He also makes a surprise guest appearance in the comedy Tropic Thunder with Ben Stiller, which will hit theatres in North America on August 15.
