Green will be launching Lay It Down on May 27 via Blue Note, with 11 new tracks, reported Pitchfork.
The drummer of the rap group Roots, Amir Khalib Thompson, collaborated on the album along with Anthony Hamilton, John Legend, Corinne Bailey Rae and the Dap-Kings.
The album was produced by James Poyser who often collaborates with Roots, as well as Lauryn Hill and Common.
The legendary singer Al Green will be starting a North American tour on April 3 at Silver Star Casino & Resort Convention Center in Philadelphia, and will end his tour at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on September 20. Some of these concerts will be given with soul/R&B singer Gladys Knight.
