Weaver, Tripplehorn (Big Love) and J.K. Simmons (Juno) have confirmed that they will play in the film Crazy on the Outside, reported The Hollywood Reporter. Allen will be making his directorial debut with this comedy.
Allen will also have a part in the movie, playing a prisoner who is on parole and finds the outside world crazier. His desire to rebuild his life is complicated by the quirky world of his older manipulative sister (Weaver), and her sarcastic husband (Simmons). It is scripted by Judd Pillot and John Peaslee.
Crazy on the Outside reunites Allen and Weaver who have not acted together since Galaxy Quest (1999). It reflects some of Allen’s life since he spent 28 months in prison for drug trafficking in 1978.
Other actors in this film include Ray Liotta, Kelsey Grammer and Julie Bowen.
