Woody Allen Performs in Montreal

Director Woody Allen will be showing his talent on the clarinet at the International Jazz Festival of Montreal.

Allen and his New Orleans Jazz Band will be performing at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier on June 30, reported La Presse.

The director-musician will be surrounded by his band members who play instruments such as the banjo, trombone, drums, piano and trumpet, under the direction of Eddy Davis.

Allen, who has been playing the clarinet since the age of 15, has been asked to perform many times at the Jazz Festival, but always had a movie in the works and was unable to commit.  The director actually has a romantic comedy in progress starring Larry David and Evan Rachel Wood, but filming will take place this spring.

Tickets for the Woody Allen and New Orleans Jazz Band show will be sold on March 29 online at Admission, or at the Metropolis and Place des Arts in Montreal.  Tickets range in price from $72.50 to $119.50.

The International Jazz Festival of Montreal will take place from June 26 to July 6.
