Will Smith Wants to Do The Last Pharaoh

Will Smith would like to produce The Last Pharaoh.

According to Sun Media, screenwriter Chris Hauty (Never Back Down) is in the process of fine tuning the screenplay by Carl Franklin (Devil in a Blue Dress) called The Last Pharaoh.   It will be produced by Will Smith’s production company, Overbrook Entertainment.

The film revolves around King Taharqa of Egypt who was a member of the 25th dynasty of Egypt between 690 and 664 B.C.  It will show the battles between the Ethiopians and the Assyrians for the throne of Amun-Ra.

"It’s an open writing assignment from Will’s company. It’s something he’s taken a big interest in," revealed screenwriter Chris Hauty.

Smith is producing about ten films at this time including the adventure film Amulet, which will star his two children, Willow, 7, and Jaden, 9.
