According to FemaleFirst, the new disc by Coldplay was supposed to have the name Prospekt, but was finally named after a painting by the famous Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
The singer of the group, Chris Martin, explained,
"Frida went through a lot of stuff, and then she started a big painting in her house that said ‘Viva La Vida’. I just loved the boldness of it."
Frida Kahlo died in 1954 at the age of 47, and in 2002 the movie Frida was made about her life. Actress Salma Hayek had the role of the renowned artist.
