The young star, who can soon be seen in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, did not show up for his court hearing yesterday (March 18) in Los Angeles. The 21-year-old actor did not have legal counsel present either to defend his case. He is being accused of smoking in a public place where smoking is prohibited. The judge ordered LaBeouf to pay a fine of $1000 since he did not appear in court.
It is not the first time LaBeouf is in trouble with the law. He was arrested last November for causing a public disturbance at a pharmacy in Chicago. The charges were dropped, but the actor expressed his remorse. "It was a mistake I’m still completely embarrassed about," he stated.
